The Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) was founded in 1960 with a vision for training Arabs to serve the Arabic-speaking Church. For well over 40 years, ABTS has trained men and women and graduated pastors, teachers, church and community leaders from the Arab world. This includes Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Sudan as well as others that minister among the Arab Diaspora in the West.
Project Goal & Objectives:
Since Lebanon is the only country in the Arab World where Muslim-background believers can legally enroll for theological education, ABTS proposes through this project to facilitate the participation of 20-40 North African church and lay leaders in periodic intensive courses that address their respective needs and at the same time do not take them away from the ministry field for long. The trainees will also be able to benefit from the wide range of resources available at ABTS’ Finlay Graham Memorial Library.
