Vietnam Library Development: $ 38,850 out of 54,000 raised.
We are witnessing an extraordinary re-emergence of theological education in Vietnam, with limited government approval and with growing cooperation between various denominations and mission groups. The Institute of Bible and Theology has been operating for several years now; and a small college has been started in Hanoi. There are plans for the Interdenominational Theological College to be launched in the Fall of 2010. But in each case, one of the most urgent needs is for adequate library resources to support these new programs.

reSource is entering into a partnership with a businessman based in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) to establish an independent theological resource centre to serve a variety of programs that will not be able to set up their own resources. There are no adequate theological libraries in Vietnam. None. And so the need is urgent; in a meeting with 22 church leaders on October 2 in Saigon, we were told in no uncertain terms that the most critical and urgent need of the church and of the new programs in theological education is for adequate libraries.
reSource has secured the services of Penelope Hall, former missionary to Vietnam (fluent in Vietnamese) and an expert in the development of theological libraries, to advise both us and the emerging programs in theological education in Vietnam. She made a preliminary visit to Vietnam in early October 2009, and will make a return and more extended visit this month, January 2010.
